Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard 'Therapy' (SINGLE REVIEW)

Powered by an infectious pulsating groove, ‘Therapy’ is the latest single from Cardiff power pop outfit ‘Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard.’ Continuing the quartet’s migration from their Pooh Sticks influenced sun-drenched pop to an edgier, meatier, more industrial sound, first heard in previous single release ‘Chew,’ the new song’s cathartic subject matter influenced by lead singer Tom Rees’s personal experience.

The last time the word ‘Moron’ was shoehorned into a pop song ‘Jilted John’ was enjoying his fifteen minutes of fame before morphing into John Shuttleworth. Fifteen is also the number of months quirky Lancashire punk duo ‘The Lovely Eggs’ have been waiting to hit the road and promote their fine chart-topping record ‘I Am Moron’. 

Big & The Fat 'Fruit/Crack Crack' (DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE REVIEW)

Electronic garage Londoners Big & The Fat half swagger and half shuffle onto We Can Do It Records with the mesmerisingly tense new double A-side ‘Fruit’/’Crack Crack’.

There is something bizarre, even gratifyingly uncomfortable, about both tracks, which stomp ever onwards with the steady regularity of a pendulum while ramping up a certain sense of uneasiness which never really resolves itself. The tracks are the musical equivalent of eating four grapefruits in one sitting with no sugar, bitter as anything but also delicious, nourishing and distinctly moreish.
