Hello Mary (Helena Straight, Stella Wave and Mikaela Oppenheimer) have released a new stand alone single '0%' which brings to the fore all the favourable sounds of the alternative nineties. The single is heavy with distorted guitars, crunching low end bass and desperately frustrated screams, sparring with shoegaze-dripped melody and they wrap it all up in under three minutes.
0% follows on from last year's sophomore self-titled album and maintains the band's crossover appeal, with raging guitar noise effortlessly intertwined with a melodic shift towards the end of the track before a final reminder of that chest-rattling bass beast as the ominous abrupt ending.
Still studying at college by day in Brooklyn, Hello Mary are lighting up venues by night and currently touring with Silversun Pickups before heading to the UK at the end of August.
