Beer x Music II : Verdant x Ty Segall

Beer: Verdant 'Putty' 8% DIPA. 

I can't believe the only time I tried this was a sample at Hop City that I dont recall the flavour of. The hops used are Mosaic, Galaxy and Azacca so pretty much 3 of my favourites; surely onto a winner.

The aroma is pretty savoury with a pineapple woft. The mouth is a little thin but it can be forgiven for all the different elements. There is cheese, pineapple, apricots, a little onion, orange and sweetness. Other aspects are lemon, pine and a sappy snapped open plant like flavour. Juicy, peachy sorbet with a touch of mint. Yeah, pretty good like.

For Verdant's 'Putty' we are matching an old classic musical gem with a modern twist.  Cornwall's Verdant Brewing Co seem to do no wrong. Consistently putting out great beer, especially IPA's. Taking the Beer Baron's 'surely onto a winner' words, we would have to agree. Because at Verdant, every one IS a winner. Hot Chocolate's '70's classic has recently been given the Ty Segall treatment, and it's an absolute corking cover!
